Know Drugs! Pt. 3

It is common for us to go to the doctor, get a prescription, and get a drug. When talking to your doctor, make sure to discuss the alternatives as well as all the side effects the drug may have. In the summer, our placement student Michelle De Faria, and summer student Leviana Coccia, made two videos as part of their “Know Drugs” campaign to raise awareness about prescription drugs. Not long ago, we came across an article called “The Drugs Don’t Work” on the recovery network: Toronto that talks about how drug testing may not be as reliable as we think which reinforces the message to Know Drugs!!! The article can be found here.

To review Michelle and Leviana’s videos, see below.

Know Drugs, Multilingual Ed.

Michelle De Faria started her placement with Eating Disorders of York Region earlier this summer. Her passion is to encourage men and women to take control of their mental health.

“Know Drugs” is the byproduct of De Faria’s inspiration to create a campaign to promote pharmaceutical alternatives, since medicine may not always be the only way to be healthy and happy.

The original, all-English, video was produced on June 28, 2012. See it here.

This multilingual edition promotes pharmaceutical alternatives and encourages people from all over the world to take control and have a voice when it comes to their mental health.

Dear 15-Year-Old Me

Leviana (Events and Communications Coordinator) and Michelle (placement student) were busy yesterday producing this “Dear 15-Year-Old Me” video. Thank you to everyone who submitted bits of quotes and inspiration.
EDOYR produced everything in “Dear 15-Year-Old Me,” aside from the soundtrack (“True Colors” by The Glee Cast, which can be purchased on iTunes) for educational and inspirational purposes.
Enjoy!
